About Studio Lawrence
Studio Lawrence designs and produces quality furniture for the project and residential markets, using high quality materials and the best in European manufacturing to create enduring and timeless pieces.
Studio Lawrence was founded in 2007 by the internationally acclaimed design duo Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eijking. In their designs they play with varying tactile surfaces and depths, sequences and composition. They have created unique dynamic pieces that gain constant media attention and won numerous international awards including two US Interior Design magazine Best of Year Awards, the 40under40 Award for the most promising European designers, two Interior Innovation Awards and the prestigious Good Design Award.
Most of the furniture is modular, flexible and part of an extensive program allowing designers and consumers to customize the pieces to their specifications. Designers and consumers can easily adapt, engage and play with the pieces.
About the designers
Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eyking founded Studio Lawrence only week prior to driving a van with the prototype of their iconic Last Supper Table to Milan’s 2007 furniture fair. The design duo met 15 years earlier at the start of their Architecture Studies at Delft University of Technology and had just been presented a 2006 Best of Year Large Office Design Award by US Interior Design magazine in the Guggenheim Museum, New York.
The international recognition and the demand for their furniture that followed prompted the bold move to start their own furniture brand dedicated to craftsmanship and a fascination for sequences and colour.
Aside from their work for Studio Lawrence, Patrick is currently the Executive Director Interior Architecture at AECOM in Shanghai and Bart has his own architecture and interior design office EYKING in London.
Their architectural and interior design work has been published by renowned international architectural and design magazines and since 2011 they write a monthly column for Dutch design magazine PI on architecture and design called: London Calling.
